Get customers or clients by retargeting them
We all want to get the most from our advertising budgets. It can be easy to spend without seeing the return. If you want to improve your return, and get more leads, there is a way.
Facebook retargeting ads allow you to re-engage with people who have already interacted with your business website. This means you will spend less to get more customers and clients.
What is retargeting?
Retargeting is showing ads to people who have engaged with you online, which can be on Facebook, those people who have visited your website, or are on your customer list already.
You can do this by using custom audience who have engaged, the built-in Facebook tracking Pixel, or using your customer list.
By targeting a group of people already interested in your business, you will get more bang for your buck, and your adverting return will be far greater.
When to use it
The vast majority of potential customers or clients simply do not become a customer or client the first time they find you online.
When someone first visits your website, they may not be ready to sign up, purchase, or do whatever action you’d like them to do. It takes a few more times for them to become familiar with you.
You can increase this, and not leave it to chance, by retargeting those very people. By doing this, you build trust and demonstrate knowledge. This can also be a way to offer promotions.
How to set it up
- Install Facebook’s tracking code, called a Pixel, on your website
- Create a custom audience using engaged audiences, your pixel or customer list
- Create ads that target engaged audiences, website visitors or your customer list
You may need your website developer to help install the Pixel tracking code, or a good Google search will show you how.
To create your audience, go into your Ads Manager and select Audiences. Click on Create Audience and select Custom Audiences, and then select Website Traffic. To create a custom audience using a customer or client list, the set up is similar. In addition, you will need to upload your list.
Create ads that will appeal to different groups of people, offering information or promotions that relate to what they looked at on your website when they visited.
